Each ASCII text file is composed of three columns; the first column is the vector of times (in microseconds afters start of injection), the second column has the averaged penetration length over 50 injection events and the third column is the standard deviation.
_avg_ are files containing the mean values and standard deviations over 50 injection events.
_AXIALPENvsTIME_vapor are files containing the maximum axial vapor penetration lengths versus time ASOI.
_RADIALPENvsTIME_ are files containing maximum radial penetration lengths at a given axial distance downstream of the injector tip.
_CONEANGLEvsTIME_vapor are files containing the cone angle calculated using the maximum radial penetrations above and below the injector centerline at 1 and 10 mm downstream of the injector tip.
“Threshold” is the liquid volume fraction threshold used (either the “low” threshold of 0.2E-3 mm3/mm2 or the “high” threshold of 2E3 mm3/mm2).
There are two high speed movie files, one in .avi format and one in .gif format (lower quality, but higher compatibility) which show the raw DBI images with the liquid extent superimposed using two different LVF definitions (0.2E-3 and 2.0E-3 mm3 liquid/mm2). The “high” threshold is shown in red, and the “low” threshold is given by the blue trace.
The other movie files show the raw schlieren images with the vapor extent superimposed in blue and the liquid extent from Mie-scattering experiments superimposed in red. The QSMS prefix refers to the quasi-simultaneous Mie-scattering and schlieren method used to collect the schlieren and Mie-scattering images with one camera and alternating high speed frames.
